Nikon has released the D3X digital SLR camera. This full-frame DSLR has 24.5 mega-pixels on a CMOS sensor. It sports the EXCEED image processor to reduce noise.

Nikon's estimated file size is 138 megs for a RAW image. Thus, the camera has dual card slots. The camera can back-up from one card to the other, that is kind of cool.

I do have to ask, does anyone really expect to use the ISO6400 setting (Hi-2) in the menu? Seriously, the ISO3200 setting is noisy enough that I would never consider using it, but ISO6400, let's be serious!

I'd love to see an end to this never-ending pixel race. Enough it enough.
