Canon's New Digital Rebel
Digital Rebel xsi
by Mickey Maguire

Canon announced a new Digital Rebel, the "Digital Rebel xsi", it features a 12.2 mega-pixel APS-C sensor and a "live preview LCD", like all their competition.

The camera sports 14 bit analog-to-digital conversion for better color depth. It has the new Digic III processor. There is a three inch LCD on its backside. The body is polycarbonate, same as previous Rebel bodies.

Like recent Rebel models, this camera features Canon's dust reduction system and software that works in concert with it. You can expect the same performance with that feature. Canon says that this Rebel also has an improved auto-focus system. You can bet the price is right and it will immediately grab a healthy market share.
