Sigma Announces new 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC

Sigma has announced a new "digital" 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC Circular Fisheye HSM lens for APS-sized sensors.

This HSM (hyper-sonic motor) lens has a fast 2.8 aperture that should yield excellent results based on our experience with Sigma. The one disappointment for us is that it is only available for Canon, Nikon, and Sigma camera mounts.

With the popularity of Pentax DSLRs what it is, especially the K10D among long-time Pentax users, you would think that Sigma would start to reconsider skipping them when they introduce a new lens. Obviously, they don't believe there are enough professional shooters using Pentax to warrant making one in that mount.

If you are a Pentax shooter and interested in some of Sigma's more exotic lenses, tell them about it. Maybe they will reconsider and develop more glass for Pentax K-Mounts.
